Look at the text below. In 40 seconds, you must read the this text aloud as naturally and as clearly as possible. You have 40 seconds to read aloud.

England started its first settlements in North America as early as the 1570s. However, it is discovered that supporting colonies far away from London was extremely costly. History experts also suggest that the new settlers did not have sufficient skills to survive on the new land, which has slowed down the pace of colonizing America in the 15th century.

断句/意群分析

1. 名词性词组断句：例如此题中的history experts, the pace of colonizing America 各自构成的名词词组
2. 主谓宾结构断句：England为主语，started its first settlements 为谓语+宾语断句，in North America对前文主干补充说明作为一个断句
3. 连接词断句：例如出现However, or, and, but also表示转折，并列关系的连接词，在连接词之前断句
4. 标点符号断句：逗号“，”，句号“。”，在句子结尾断句
5. 从句断句：如果出现what,which,where等引导的从句，在引导词前面断句，例如此题which has slowed down the pace，在which前断句
